So you will need to pot them up when they arrive. We remove some soil on root balls on many of the plants also for shipping purposes.

It’s better to have too much drainage material and require more frequent watering than too dense a media and end up with root rot. Using a fungicide regularly and feeding your plants with light dose of liquid (water soluble) fertilizer is a huge aid in successful plantings. Please be aware that shipping in extreme temperatures can be risky, and the purchase of a heat pack is the buyer’s responsibility in cold weather.
